The 2018 Kia Sportage is a smart choice for teen drivers

It's always exciting when our new Kia models get a nod, whether it's from a testing agency, design organization, or an automotive "best buy" list! Today, we want to recognize the 2018 Kia Sportage, as it just earned a spot on the '2018 Best New and Used Cars for Teens' list by U.S. News!

The news organization looked at vehicles that were the best fit for teen drivers. The 2018 Kia Sportage was listed as the 'Best New SUV for Teens $25k to $30k'*, and testers loved it for the following reasons.

Technology to curb bad driving habits

Bad driving habits start young, and the sooner you can nip them in the bud, the better. With the Kia UVO technology, parents can set alerts to keep their new drivers in check. For example, they can be alerted it the Sportage is out past curfew or has surpassed the set speed limit. There is even a Geo Fencing feature that will alert parents if the Sportage goes outside of the pre-set perimeter. Now you'll know if your teen is really heading over to their friend's house to study or going to that concert several towns over that you specifically told them they couldn't go to!

Safety Awards

2018 Kia Sportage models built after June of 2017 that are equipped with the optional HID headlights with dynamic bending or frontal crash prevention also landed on the 2018 IIHS Top Safety Pick** list! Not only do they have technology to help keep teens (and all drivers) safer, but they also perform well if there is an accident.
