Space & Seating
The new Kia Sorento measures 189 inches and has a wheelbase of 109.4 inches. This makes it a perfect size for so many people since it's not too big nor too small. Legroom in the second row is a comfortable 39.4 inches. The third row, at 31.7 inches, is handy to have for those times when you have extra passengers to transport or want the kids to be able to spread out a bit.
Behind the third row is 11.3 cubic feet, ideal for everyday trips around Spring Valley, NY. If you need more room, lower the third row to expand the area to 38 cubic feet. When both rows are folded down, maximum cargo capacity is 73 cubic feet. What's great is that the second row can come as a 40/20/40 split-bench and the back row is built as a 50/50 split-bench, so there are so many ways you can configure the arrangement.
On the L trim, seating starts out by having YES Essentials fabric. At the EX and SX levels, there is leather seating and power-adjustable front seats that can move in up to 14 different ways. Heated front seats and lumbar support are other nice amenities that improve comfort for Mahwah drivers.

Powertrain Options
The first two trims on the Kia Sorento run on a 2.4-liter 16-valve I-4 engine. It produces 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, and it's matched to an electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission. It can tow up to 2,000 pounds, which is a selling point for any customers who occasionally have to transport bigger items. This engine can achieve up to an EPA-estimated 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway.
The Kia Sorento S V6, EX, and SX all get to take advantage of a more powerful 3.3-liter 24-valve V6. This engine's stats are pretty impressive, as it can generate 290 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque. As you'd imagine, towing capacity is greater with this version, at 3,500 pounds. The V6 is paired with a responsive eight-speed automatic transmission. Even with all of this capability, fuel economy is fairly strong. With a V6, the Sorento can travel up to an EPA-estimated 19 miles for each gallon in the city and 26 MPG on the highway.
