Comparing the 2018 Kia Optima to the Competition

Searching for a stunning, sleek sedan that will turn heads everywhere you go? Stop by Liberty Kia in Ramsey, and let us introduce you to the new, 2018 Kia Optima. With its stylish, luxury-level appearance and innovative tech and safety features, this mid-sized sedan is the perfect model for both families and professionals.

The 2018 Kia Optima is a four-door, five passenger sedan. It has a roomy trunk that can easily hold a full load of groceries or several suitcases, and the passenger cabin has enough legroom, headroom, and elbow room so that even three adults sitting side-by-side in the backseat will be plenty comfortable.

But, of course, the automotive market here in the Spring Valley, NY area is a crowded place, and there are other sedans vying for your attention. If you're considering a 2018 Kia Optima, but that old standby the Toyota Camry is also calling your name, let us help. We can show you all the ways the decidedly modern and up-to-date Kia Optima dominates your grandparent's favorite sedan, and gives drivers throughout New York and New Jersey a little more of what they want in a car.

The 2018 Kia Optima vs. the 2018 Toyota Camry

  • Hybrid options. If you love the look of both of these sedans, but you're interested in saving money on gas with a hybrid powertrain, you'll be happy to know that both carmakers have hybrid powertrain options available for these popular models. But, for a greater mpg rating and an incredible electric-only range, only the Kia Optima has a plug-in hybrid option. The plug-in version of the Kia Optima hybrid allows drivers to travel around 29 miles on just electricity alone, before the vehicle switches over to traditional hybrid operation or needs to be recharged. The hybrid Camry, on the other hand, does not have a plug-in, electric-only option.
  • Warranty. Kia models are built for quality and reliability, and we don't expect anything to go wrong with your brand-new car. However, we know that life happens, and things can happen. If you get stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire or a dead battery, Kia has your back and will cover you longer than Toyota will. That's because Toyota only offers their customers roadside assistance for two years, a basic warranty for three years, and a drivetrain warranty for five years. But, Kia gives you a ten-year or 100,000-miles drivetrain warranty, and roadside assistance for five years.
  • Standard tech features. Even the base model, entry-level Kia Optima comes with the tech and connectivity features drivers in the Mahwah and Chestnut Ridge, NY area want. This includes standard smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Toyota Camry, however, doesn't have the same level of tech features standard. In fact, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto aren't even available anywhere in the 2018 Camry lineup.
  • Cargo and passenger space. Despite the fact that both of these sedans are similarly-sized in a lot of ways, the 2018 Kia Optima maximizes its space better. In fact, the Optima trunk holds nearly 16 cubic feet of gear, compared to just 14.1 cubic feet in the Camry, and the Optima has legroom that measures about three inches longer in the front seat than the Camry.
